KEVIN SEEFRIED: LIVE AT KELLY’S IRISH TIMES - Taped at Kelly’s Irish Times, home of Batting Cage Comedy, this revised version of Seefried’s award-winning show “Mad About Me,” touches on family, love, mental health, and that guy who stormed the capital who has the same name as Kevin, but very different values and beliefs, okay?? The reluctantly liberal comic hits the theme of “identity overtaking ideology” over and over again, whether he’s unpacking the quirks of his family, his wife, and the people of Washington, DC or grappling with his own hypocrisies, failures, and flaws. A joyful performance that runs the gamut from vulnerable to defensive to outright silly, “Hopefully Funny” is a snapshot of what it means to be human…to be an oft-misinformed and frequently misguided, but ultimately well-intentioned human.
